More than sixty years separate us from the end of WW II and the memory of the Holocaust is still vivid in the hearts and minds of the survivors.
What happened was one of the greatest tragedy in human history and the World (except a small number of shitheads, but those will always exist, like diseases will always exist) is united in condemning that tragedy and making sure it won’t happen again (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genocides_in_history#1951_to_2000).
From the ashes of a devastated people a nation emerged, but Israel since the beginning had problems to make co-existence with its neighbours a peaceful experience, let’s just say.
Most of the times, the international opinion couldn’t really make up its mind in what was happening: biased by millennia of abuses and discrimination in one hand, dodgy political involvement by the US and NATO on the other, it was really hard to point fingers and say without any doubt “that is the reason”...unless blaming it all on the PNA was enough to quench your thirst for truth.
Now that has changed: Israel is responsible for the Palestinian tragedy, for the death of nine persons trying to bring food and supplies where it's needed, for the starvation of children and for the attempt to lie to the World, saying that there is no need for humanitarian groups to bring any form of aid to the Strip, adding also that the use of military force on those trying to do so cannot be seen in any other way than a justified reaction against the attempt to bring weapon into Gaza.
An investigation is bound to determine if the shooting aboard the Turkish ship Mavi Marmara was “legal”.
Nine (9) casualties on one side, some scratches on the other.
“[...]the soldiers on the Marmara showed great courage in fulfilling their mission and acting in self-defense against real-life dangers," Netanyahu said.
For the Israeli army a “real danger” is also a person in wheel chair standing in front of a tank, I’d like to point out: fifty-seven-year-old Kamal Zghair, a wheelchair-bound man was shot and then run over by IDF tanks on April 10 2002 as he was moving down a major road in Jenin equipped with a white flag.
And that’s just one of the many examples.
I don’t like saying it even though I think it’s so obvious by now that would be embarrassingly stupid not to point it out, but the US in the past century needed much lesser excuses to start wars all over the globe, “in the name of democracy and/or freedom”.
The fact that Israel has the atomic bomb (looks like everybody has the a- bomb now, I would not be surprised if the Vatican admitted it aswell...) appears not to be a concern either...
My question is this then: when that part of the world that don’t really like us (being so obvious that we don’t like them) decide that our policy with Israel can’t stand anymore, what’s going to happen? What's going to happen when not just religious extremists decide that we are evil, not because we don't share their ways but for our very actions? What could be the outcome then?...
...and I repeat: everybody seems to have the a-bomb.

Facci e il suo "giornalismo"
Oggi non riesco proprio a capacitarmi di una cosa molto semplice: come fa la politica a renderci tanto ciechi di fronte alla palese faziositá spacciata per “ricerca della veritá”?
Non lo dico per elevarmi al di sopra delle parti, mi sembra che quello che scrivo e come lo scrivo siano segni abbastanza palesi del mio essere assolutamente anti-berlusconiano (e schifato dalla politica in generale).
Mi sento in dovere, in qualitá di libero pensatore, di puntare il dito contro le mostruositá istituzionali commesse dai diretti interessati: quei politici che, con le loro azioni, a parer mio si meritano certi determinati aggettivi.
Il mio essere anti-berlusconiano, peró, non significa che sono lanciato in una personale crociata per dare dei ruffiani, ladri, mafiosi, arraffoni e quant’altro a chi decide di votare per Berlusconi.
Perché?
Perché é un loro diritto votare per chi gli pare e, in un paese che si spaccia ancora come “democratico”, é, sempre a mio parere, di vitale importanza rispettare questo diritto.
Soprattutto se si decide di esprimere la propria opinione in forma scritta e pubblica.
Viviamo in una societá civile. Dovremmo avvalerci di mezzi d’espressione altrettanto civili.
Non sembra peró essere cosí per tutti.
Per pochi eletti, la carta stampata é un modo per attaccare singoli individui, singoli elettori, privati elettori, sparando a zero, traviando e stravolgendo il senso delle parole usate da terzi, per poter insultare in modo assolutamente incivile e restare impuniti.
Se dó dei “coglioni” a tutti i votanti PD non é passibile di denuncia come dare del “colluso” o del “mafioso” al Presidente del Consiglio senza uno straccio di prova che possa confermare che quello che dico non é semplice calunnia.
Evidentemente, a questa scuola di “giornalisti d’inchiesta” (come si definisce lui stesso davanti allo specchio) appartiene anche Filippo Facci, il quale su Libero (del 3/08/2010) dá apertamente dei cocainomani a tutti i lettori de “Il Fatto”, semplicemente perché i commenti all’articolo riguardante la contumacia del Governo alla celebrazione del 2 Agosto a Bologna non sono di suo gradimento.
É come se Giorgio Bocca ( mi scuso con il Maestro Bocca per l’accostamento che fa arricciare il naso, ma é solo per fini retorici, non me ne voglia) decidesse di scrivere un pezzo su Repubblica in cui descrive i lettori di Libero come dei puttanieri perché, nel servizio riguardante “lo scandalo” della casa di Fini a Monaco, hanno espresso le loro opinioni al riguardo.
Essendo palese da che parte della palizzata si collochi il signor Facci, non credo ci sia molto da dire riguardo il “perché” del suo articolo. Credo ci sia da riflettere sul “perché gli venga pubblicato un simile articolo”, perché gli vengano dati dei soldi, per un pezzo cosí argomentativamente debole e apertamente offensivo nei confronti di privati cittadini italiani che hanno solo espresso il loro altrettanto individuale (nonché legittimo)scontento verso un fatto avvenuto.
Mi sembra di essere un disco rotto ma non riesco a non vedere questo episodio come l’ennesima dimostrazione di come una certa corrente del pensiero in Italia stia sempre piú andando verso la deriva propagandistica, attaccando e offendendo le masse semplicemente perché hanno la possibilitá di esprimere la loro opinione.
...Censurando poi le informazioni scomode, come la pagina di Wikipedia dello stesso Filippo Facci, che recita testualmente “Attenzione: questa pagina è stata oscurata e bloccata a scopo cautelativo a seguito di minaccia di azioni legali. Verrà eventualmente ripristinata alla fine della vicenda che la riguarda”.
Nessuno ha mai spiegato a Facci che Wikipedia é una enciclopedia libera e tutti hanno l’opportunita di modificarne i contenuti? Anche il diretto interessato?
Certo se uno scrive sulla sua stessa pagina “grande giornalista sempre alla ricerca dell’obiettiva realtá dei fatti” e viene corretto ogni volta, le strade sono due: un esamino di coscienza oppure, se l’orgoglio lo impedisce, una bella pezza in forma di “minaccia di azioni legali”.

Il Partito dell'Amore
Anche se sembra che il Pdl stia correndo ai ripari (Gianfranco Fini sull’orlo dell’ostracismo, il ddl intercettazioni “quasi” ritirato) in preda alla paura, non credo sia una buona idea cantare vittoria e suonare le trombe del la disfatta del Partito dell’Amore.
Credo invece che una condotta responsabile sia quella di prepararsi al peggio e allacciarsi le cinture per un nuovo livello di scabrositá, in cui il governo si prodigherá in nuove funamboliche e anti-costituzionali prodezze: i comunicati stampa che escono da Palazzo Chigi e Montecitorio sono delle parodie vere e proprie, una presa per i fondelli di quello che dovrebbe essere il primo gradino (e il piú serio, essendo ufficiale) di informazione per i cittadini italiani.
Cito solo un passaggio, il piú emblematico della suddetta rassegna stampa ufficiale del Governo (che si puó trovare al seguente indirizzo: http://rassegna.governo.it/testo.asp?d=48858713), per rendere bene l’idea di cosa intendo per “parodia”: “[Silvio Berlusconi] Ci sono rimasto malissimo quando ho scoperto che Bocchino era un deputato e non un punto del nostro programma...”.
La necessitá di interpretare cosa accade e il gergo da set pornografico usato durante riunioni del Gabinetto, rende esattamente l’idea di come a loro (i Ministri) non interessi assolutamente nulla della figura che possono fare agli occhi dell’opinione pubblica, tanto poi le notizie che effettivamente arrivano alle masse sono solo quelle approvate, epurate e contraffatte dai vari organi di propaganda (Rai e Mediaset).
Un simile atteggiamento prova come, per loro che non sono stati eletti dal popolo italiano, la carta che in altre nazioni del mondo viene chiamata Costituzione sia solo un altro pezzo di cellulosa con cui pulirsi il culo dopo una bella sessione del Consiglio dei Ministri.

"LEGGE BAVAGLIO" or "THE LAST INSULT TO THE DEAD IDEAL OF DEMOCRACY"
Considering that I totally ignore where the server for this blog is located -could be in Italy, could be in a civilized country- I’m writing this post now, so it won’t be affected by the new law, that’s about to be voted for (and presumably approved), that will gag the liberty of speech for the internet contents in our country (otherwise known as “comma 29 dell’articolo 1 della Legge bavaglio”).
First, what Berlusconi and his government (and I use his because he actually owns all of it) are trying to do is criminal not in the strict sense of the Italian law, that is pretty much an intellectual exercise of who’s the smarter burocrat and can burn the other one back with a tiny and obscure procedural detail, but in the sense that they are using a power they took without authorization from the people of Italy (yes, our electoral system is a joke and an insult to democracy) to pursue their own private interests.
Now, the People finally are starting to get tired of this blatant lie that calls itself “The Cabinet” and, voice by voice, they are adding up in the internet, turning what was just a murmur into the beginning of a roar, scaring the crap out of the Prime Minister who, being nothing but a fascist, can come up with nothing else but crass censorship.
Second, the fact that outside of Italy the reaction to this news is a mild “really?” it’s hard evidence that we already are living in a dictatorship without realizing it and, to paraphrase an old song , “the joke is on us”.
WAKE UP FOR FUCK’S SAKE! THEY ARE TRYING TO GAG US! THEY ARE TRYING TO TAKE AWAY FROM US OUR VOICES AND OUR FREEDOM OF SPEECH! STOP WATCHING TV (HIS TV!!!!!) AND GET YOUR ARSE MOVING!

Go watch "Inception"! NOW!!
Finally a work of art that made me (and the rest of the sold-out theatre) go “woooot!”.
Christopher Nolan’s latest creation, “Inception”, truly is a brilliant movie... actually it is so good the title should have been “Fucking Brilliant Movie”.
It’s got it all: the heart breaking romance; the struggle for freedom (both juridical and psychological); good action; breath taking special effects (with absolutely original scenarios); excellent soundtrack; realistic and witty dialogues; guns (!!!); no cheesiness; scary bits ...it has everything.
As a matter of fact it is like someone went through the archives where all the good movies are kept and said “Ok, now we are going to make a movie with: some of The Italian Job, a bit of The Matrix, ...what else?...Oh yes! Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (duh...), a sprinkle of The Heroes of Telemark and, for the ending, a WTF! Donnie Darko last scene, just to send you home with the need to talk about it”.
Leonardo Di Caprio once again shows how much of an actor he is but the best thing of this flick is that he is not the one that makes the movie: the whole cast does an outstanding work.
Team-work is mixed with individuality: great performances made possible only thanks to a simple but really effective way of alternating different layers of settings.
Reality meets subconscious, creating a plot that litterally dances through the characters, hooking you from start to end.
A further praise goes to the female cast: to Marion Cotillard (Public Enemies), scary as hell, and to Ellen Page (Juno), who plays the role of a “Jiminy Cricket” to Leonardo Di Caprio, steering him through the quay of his tortured subconscious with the humanity that by now is her trade mark.
“This time we have to go deep”.
And deep they went.
Only criticism I feel confident to make: some comic relief more here and there would have made this movie actually perfect.
A truly memorable cinematic experience.
